In August, I joined fellow 2019 debut contemporary romance author Angelina M. Lopez for a lively conversation about what it means to be a Lush and embrace things that make you happy… adult things. The lovely Danielle Dresser of Fresh Fiction moderated the chat in a virtual event for romance bookstore Love’s Sweet Arrow. We had such a delightful time together, we decided we had to do it again…and again! Thus, the idea for the #BoozyBookBroads was born. Starting in September, on the 3rd Friday of every month at 8pm eastern/ 7pm central, we’ll be hosting a live cocktail hour to chat all things bookish (and many other things as well). Each month we’ll toast someone from the romance industry: authors, editors, agents, cover designers, PR, bookstore owners – and more! Of course, since we are the Boozy Book Broads, we’ll have a featured cocktail (and mocktail) to enjoy during our chat. To stay up-to-date on the guest list, please visit the Love’s Sweet Arrow events page. All events will be available to watch LIVE on the LSA YouTube channel (and yes, you’ll be able to catch the playback version there later if you miss it). Hope to see you there. CHEERS!
Jingle those balls for a great cause and get a head start on the holiday spirit with this spicy collection of romantic comedy stories. Twenty of today’s most entertaining rom-com authors have teamed up to go #Nuts4Books.
My contribution is COLDCOCKED BY SAINT NICK, a delightful little holiday story set in the Sometimes in Love world featuring an ice princess who hates Christmas and a merry charmer who knocks her out with his giant candy cane…literally.
Contemporary and Historical Romance authors come together in this lively panel to discuss all things romance novels: from writing them to reading them to swooning over favorites. Hosted by OLD FIREHOUSE BOOKS, this virtual event is free to attend, but space is limited and registration is required. Sign up via Eventbrite HERE.
Punch up your brand and build buzz for your next release like a professional publicist whether you’re indie or traditional, whether it’s your first book or your fifth.
Virtual Event: FRIDAY, July 23rd 1:00 – 2:30 pm (Central)
Award-winning authors Alexis Daria, Melonie Johnson, and Scarlett Peckham will discuss how writers at any stage in their career can use their brand to build a platform and generate buzz that will reach readers and sell more books. This workshop will demystify the strategies that professional publicists use to build advance buzz organically and on the cheap, using the unique strengths of your own author brand.
Join me on Thursday, April 16th at 7pm central for a live virtual author visit on the Love’s Sweet Arrow FB page. There’ll be cocktails, cupcakes, and confessions! I’ll be doing a live reading of a scene from one of my Sometimes in Love books, answering questions, sharing recipes, dishing on my current project, and giving out some amazing party gifts (like one of these surprise boxes!) to a few lucky attendees. There’s also a virtual signing where you can order signed personalized print books from all of the participating authors! I hope you’ll pop in for some fun and help support Love’s Sweet Arrow, Chicagoland’s romance indie bookstore!
So excited to announce I’m working on something new! I’ve just signed a deal with St. Martin’s Press for 2 new rom-coms. Like my Sometimes in Love series, these new stories will feature strong female friendships, loads of witty banter, and plenty of affectionate nods and playful winks at beloved romance tropes. The first, TOO GOOD TO BE REAL will arrive July 2021, I can’t wait for you to meet a new band of badass besties, a prickly on the outside sweet and goofy on the inside programmer/gaming nerd hero, and a horrible goose in the form of a kleptomaniac seagull who goes from cock-blocker to Cupid. Add it as WANT TO READ on Goodreads, put it on your BookBub Wishlist and watch for more news including pre-order links, cover reveal, and how you can join my exclusive Reading Lush Book Brigade!
